Do you want to know where to buy plants, fabrics or books? Get our advice on shopping in the markets? Find the best places to relax with your children, or where to send them to schools or nurseries? Need the phone numbers of the clinics? Or want to get your satellite TV set up?
Most of our members have at one time been new to Kyiv, and it really helps to have a source of information when you have just arrived. For that reason, a group of us got together in 2003 to produce our handbook of information, now known as the Insider's Guide to Kyiv. The book is useful even to seasoned inhabitants of Kyiv, as all those phone numbers we all have scribbled down on bits of paper, are all nicely organized in one book.
You can purchase a copy at the IWCK office or at any of our General Meetings. Try to buy it early in the year, as there is a limited print run. The new issue will come out in September 2009, at the beginning of the IWCK year. The current guide is over 400 pages long and contains the following sections:
